With the challenges presented in 2020, including closures and restrictions, SYC was not able to hold in person events or cruises for much of the year. But with boating being one of the few activities that seemed ‘normal’, several SYC members set out to enjoy solo or small group cruises in their home waters.
South of the international border Jeff & Lynette (Elysian) pointed the bow south for a 10 day cruise to several Puget Sound ports of call. A loop including stops at Anacortes, Kingston, Seattle (Bell Harbor), Paulsbo, Port Ludlow, Port Townsend and Deer Harbor was met with blue skies fair waters.
Marlin & Sharon (North Star) also headed south, stopping at Seattle (Shilshole), Hood Canal and back to the San Juan Islands. They were also able to join their son and Marlin’s brother for a great day fishing at Cattle Point.
Several of our Canadian members were also rumored to have ventured out, and if anyone can provide details, please contact your communications officer so that we can update this article.
Things seem to be looking brighter on the cruising front for 2021, so please join our cruises, set for each side of the international border
