Our Sucia (Fossil Bay) Shrimp Boil was held over the weekend of June 11 – 13, and we had a great time. We had 12 boats attend with 28 Members and Guests, and we signed up New Members Dave Hewlett and Wendy Colby! Welcome to the Club!
As is usual for this part of the country, our weather was spectacular with nice, warm temperatures and very little rain and wind. Enough boats arrived Thursday, so we started our celebrations Thursday night.
Friday night appies included BBQ oysters (from the Drayton Harbor Oyster Co.) skillfully prepared by Gerry Heys (doing a wonderful impersonation of “Chef Gerardo”), and Saturday night featured our shrimp dinner prepared with garlic, butter, lemon juice and parsley … and they were pretty darn good!
Many thanks to Marlin & Sharon Statema, Gerry & Anne Heys and Mel & Louise Kolstad & guests for helping make this another great event! We really missed having our Canadian Members, and we look forward to seeing you all before the end of the year!
