Our Nauti-Friday event for March was Harness Racing at the Homestretch Restaurant in the Elements Casino, Surrey BC. Food and beverages were the first course, catching up with fellow boaters on projects and upcoming cruises planned. It was a great opportunity to meet new member Charles Olivier, a new sailor in our club! Once we were “off to the races”, the excitement and a bit of competition amongst bidders began. Everyone had different strategies and you could guess who were the more analytical folks looking for horse origin, weight of the driver, past odds. Some, like me, just chose to go with the craziest name.
