‘Under the Sea’ Theme Decor
The Commodore’s Ball is the social event of the year for members of the Semiahmoo Yacht Club. For this year’s event, over one hundred SYC members joined Commodore Lynette at the Silver Reef Resort in Ferndale to help celebrate an outstanding year with an evening of food, fun and dancing.
Donning their finest evening attire, many members began the evening with a pre-event gathering in our hospitality suite. Then it was down to the hotel Ballroom, elegantly decorated to reflect the Commodore’s ‘Under the Sea’ theme.
During the opening cocktail hour, members and guests enjoyed music from The Atlantics and a photo recap of our year, while checking out silent auction items, having a formal portrait taken and sampling tasty hors d’oeuvres.
Following a delicious meal of steak, salmon or pasta from the resort’s renowned kitchen, the evenings program turned to a live auction and the annual awards presentation.

The evenings events also included the ticket drawing for our year-long ‘Chateau Whistler’ fund raiser. With this program, SYC has been able to raise over $1000 to support BC Marine Parks Forever. And the owner of the Grand Prize winning ticket was… Michelle F.
Hospitality Suite
Friends and honored guests then took to the dance floor and partied the rest of the evening away with more outstanding tunes from The Atlantics.
