Semiahmoo Marina

On Saturday, April 23rd, boaters from Semiahmoo Marina and club members from Semiahmoo Yacht Club partnered to spruce up the marina for the coming boating season. There was a great turn out and much work was done. The curbs were re-painted, the flower pots were re-potted, lots of weeding was done, the grounds were mulched and plants were trimmed. Windows were washed until they sparkled too.

As part of the spring-cleaning, the marina properly disposed of old and tattered flags by burning them in a fire pit with the appropriate ceremony for disposal of flags. The marina will hold this ceremony several times throughout the year, please contact the marina if you would like more information.

The marina has started a new event called, “Adopt-a-Spit”. Every third Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. anyone interested in keeping the spit clean can meet at the marina patio, form teams to walk and clean up any garbage that is left behind along the spit. The marina store has coffee and great breakfasts, so show up early and grab a bite to eat before the walk. Several bags of garbage were picked up on Saturday and there will be another walk on May 21st.

The boating season officially starts on Opening Day, May 7th, and the Semiahmoo Yacht Club will be holding a ceremony at Semiahmoo Marina to “bless the fleet.” Head out to the marina to see the good work done by everyone, the place looks beautiful!
