Racing at Fraser Downs
For our March ‘Nauti-Friday’ event, the club ventured north for a night of food, fun and spirited wagering at the Elements Casino / Fraser Downs Race Track in Cloverdale, BC. Members enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner in the Homestretch trackside dining area, while watching the racing action from our terraced seating area through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The race track even dedicated the ninth race to SYC, and members were invited to the Winner’s Circle! Although lightly raining, several members ventured down to the rail, watched the race close enough to see the horse’s breath and had our photo taken with the winning horse and jockey.
And who was the big winner for the evening … Andy, Paul or Deanna? We’re not sure, but do know that everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Thank you to Rear Commodore Iain for planning this fun and unique event!
