To all my Fellow SYC Boaters,

My wife and I are new SYC members and, as your new Fleet Captain, I am excited to present the 2026 SYC Cruise Schedule.

Our shakedown, first cruise-of-the-season, April 24-26, is the "Ice Breaker Cruise" to Fossil Bay, Sucia Island. I'm sure most of you are familiar with this nearby destination...quiet, laid-back and serene. We hope you will join us and, perhaps, serve as the cruise Host or Co-host?

Although Sucia is the first outing of what promises to be a full and exciting cruising season, the true beginning is Opening Day, May 2 at 9:00 a.m., near the Blaine Harbor Marina Office. There, we will have our traditional ceremonial "Flag Raising" of our nautical and national flags (US and Canada), the "Blessing of the Fleet" and, immediately following, we'll have a "Sail Past" in Drayton Harbor, where we will cruise by and salute our new SYC Commodore, Jason Sloan. After the Sail Past, we will reassemble at the Silver Reef Casino (Hotel Tower) for the Opening Day Luncheon.

Please note: You need to separately register/RSVP for both the Sail Past and the Luncheon so event organizers know the "headcount" for each event.

Contact any marinas you plan to visit ASAP to make your moorage reservations. Let them know you are with the Semiahmoo Yacht Club. Also, let me know directly if you can serve as a Host or Co-host for any of the cruises, SYC can really use your help and participation! It's easy and rewarding!
