2019 Commodore’s Ball

The 2019 SYC Commodore’s Ball returned to Semiahmoo Resort this year was a great success. The location, ambiance, staff and cuisine were outstanding! The beautiful and creative table decorations aligned with this year’s 'Tide Change' theme. Opening Day at Semiahmoo

The Semiahmoo Yacht Club (SYC) boating season for 2019 is officially underway! On Saturday morning, May 4th the SYC Opening Day ceremonies began at Semiahmoo Marina. Marilyn Rockwell-Bengen performed the traditional Blessing of the Fleet. The American and Canadian Flags were raised while the respective anthems played. Several intrepid SYC and BBVYC boats ventured out to Roche Harbor for the annual Bob Webber Memorial Fishing Derby again this year. Those who braved the elements were rewarded with great fishing weather, a bounty of Silver salmon and a great weekend of fun. The two day Derby action commenced on Friday. Sunshine Coast Cruise

Our three stop Sunshine Coast cruise began on Friday, August 16 with the arrival of three boats at the Garden Bay Pub & Marina in Pender Harbour. Bacalao, Panache and Me Shell all settled in to the dock before gathering for heavy appetizers aboard Bacalao that evening. Semiahmoo Yacht Club again joined forces with the Birch Bay Village Yacht club to co-host the 2018 Bob Webber Memorial Fishing Derby at the Roche Harbor Marina. Joan and Walter (Mariner) opened their lovely lakeside home on Rees Lake for a new social event for this year, dubbed the 'Shoreside Shindig'.
