The Semiahmoo Yacht Club (SYC) boating season for 2019 is officially underway! On Saturday morning, May 4th the SYC Opening Day ceremonies began at Semiahmoo Marina. Marilyn Rockwell-Bengen performed the traditional Blessing of the Fleet. The American and Canadian Flags were raised while the respective anthems played. Several intrepid SYC and BBVYC boats ventured out to Roche Harbor for the annual Bob Webber Memorial Fishing Derby again this year. Those who braved the elements were rewarded with great fishing weather, a bounty of Silver salmon and a great weekend of fun. The two day Derby action commenced on Friday.
